Following Tim Collins’ questioning earlier in the day, the Tribunal examined two treasurers of the Fianna Fail constituency Cumann which the ‘B/T’ account serviced.
Dominic Dillane informed the Tribunal, that Bertie Ahern told him that Celia Larkin had been loaned £30,000 and there was £35,000 left. Mr. Dillane received no statements for the account and said he “took it on faith” that nobody had attempted to access the funds. In all, Mr. Dillane reported to six annual general meetings since 2001 but claimed to have used no documents in making his annual report on the status of said funds in the organisation.
Justice Gerard Keyes found it remarkable that as treasurer Mr. Dillane did not have any records from any AGMs or Cumann meetings since 2001: “When you are dealing with monies there is an obligation to have some trace…so far there is such a lack of documentation.”
